Chandra Nalaar

Trying to get back into a nice groove this week by taking a step back and trying an old technique. When I first started toy photography, one of the first things I did was to incorporate colored light bulbs into my shots. Red for aggressive characters, blue for more friendly or introspective. I fell out of the habit mostly due to inexperience with photography in general and because I really didn’t understand how to make the most of them. Subtle I was not.

Nearly a decade later, however, I found myself buying lightbulbs and glancing quite by chance at the “party bulbs”. That was the same shopping trip where I found Chandra Nalaar on sale for $5. It was meant to be.
