Be Prepared

As a photographer, being prepared for a shoot is vital. Some people have a checklist that they go through. Some have a routine or ritual. For me, I try to keep my gear bag organized in just such a way that I can quickly glance over to make sure everything is present and accounted for.
Camera. Lens brush. Filters. Lens cap. Spare battery. Notebook. Phone. Wallet. Keys. Velociraptor.
